Anjan Chatterjee was born on 16th February 1960 in New Delhi, India. He is an Indian Hotelier by profession.
Anjan Chatterjee is the founder of Specialty Restaurants Limited which deals with providing the special dishes of various states in India.Anjan travelled around different parts of India. He was born in Delhi and completed his higher school from there. He then completed his graduation degree from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack. He then went on to study Hotel Management and completed his degree from Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Kolkata. After he passed out from the institution, he was employed at Taj Groups of Hotel in Mumbai. Later he joined ABP group as Marketing Manager. It was in the year 1992, Anjan started his first restaurant in Mumbai named ‘Only Fish’.
Anjan restaurant came into limelight in the year 1995, when he started the speciality Chinese Restaurant named ‘Mainland China’. This is located in Sakinaka area in Mumbai. His other speciality restaurant or rather brands include Oh! Calcutta, Sigree, Café Mezzuna, Haka, Frame and Grill, Sweet Bengal and Mobifeast. Anjan believes that to understand the likes and dislikes of a foodie you yourself need to be a foodie. He is an entrepreneur and is completely focused in the food business.
Anjan is married to Suchhanda Chatterjee who is considered to be the woman behind the look and design of his restaurants. Together they have two children and the eldest son is stepping into the boots of his father slowly to handle the empire Anjan has set up.
