She started off her career as a model before making the transition to the big screen. During her modeling career, she featured in commercials like Alukkas Jewellery and ICICI Bank. She came to limelight after featuring in Gulzar’s music video of Sunset Point.
After a highly successful modeling career, she landed her first role on big screen with Sudhir Mishra’s Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi in 2003. The film enjoyed a moderate success at the box-office but was heavily praised by most of the critics. Her next film was Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow in 2005. After a brief break, she returned to Bollywood with the film Sorry Bhai! in 2008. In 2011, she reunited with Sudhir Mishra and starred in much-acclaimed film Yeh Saali Zindagi. Till date, this was her best acting performance. She then starred in few other Hindi films such as Desi Boyz, Inkaar, and Kirchiyaan amongst others.
Before entering the modeling world she thrived to be an Air Hostess but was rejected not once but thrice. Her looks resemble the legendary actress Smita Patil. She is a shopaholic and has once said that maintain a heavy balance is very important as shopping is like an everyday thing to her.
Chitrangada Singh married ace golfer Jyoti Randhawa in 2005 with whom she has a son Zorawar. The couple divorced in 2014.
