Christopher Eccleston was born on 16th February 1964 in Salford, Lancashire, England. He is an Actor by profession.
Christopher is well known for the role he played in English television series Doctor who. He played the role of Ninth Doctor in the series. Currently he is seen on the American channel HBO in the show The Leftovers. Chris had a passion for acting and entered the film and TV industry when he was 19 years of age. He also completed a foundation course in acting at Salford Tech. Then he went on to get training at Central School of Speech and Drama. He began his professional career with a stage performance in ‘A streetcar Named Desire’. He was 25 years at that time.
It was several years of struggle and tough life when in 1991, he came to limelight by the role he performed in the movie ‘Let Him Have It’. Chris has also appeared in the film ‘Shallow Grave’ where his co-actor was Ewan McGregor. After that the career graph went up and he was seen in many movies by the year 1996. He won the best actor award in the year 1997 for the role in movie Our Friends in the North. Also he has been nominated for several other awards and also won for most of them.
In addition to acting, he is a great supporter of football club Manchester United and is also an atheist. He was active marathon runner till 2000.
In the year 2011, Christopher married Mischka. Together the couple has two children.
