Hemant Joshi holds a BA degree in literature and in the French Language. He also holds a PhD in Linguistics. In addition to that, he also did a diploma in the Italian language from the famous Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi. Thereafter, he joined IIMC and got trained in Broadcast journalism. He enrolled at the International Institute for the Training of Journalists in Budapest, Hungary and got trained in Video Journalism as well. He joined as a faculty at Media academics and worked there for some years. For more than two and a half decade, he worked as a writer, professional translator and a freelance journalist. In 1989, he got associated with the IIMC.
For two decades, he served at IIMC and in between, he was also associated with the Jamia Millia Islamia University for three years from 2006 to 2009. For several national channels, he has worked as a producer and has also served as a newsreader of All India Radio and Doordarshan and occasionally as an editor too.
In addition to his journalism career his independent published works include Mahayuddhon ke Aaspaas, Asserting Voices and Arthat.
He has also worked as an interpreter at various international conferences because of his command over several international languages like Italian, French and Russian.
