Jessie J began acting as a child artist. She acted with a minor role in the West End production of Whistle Down the Wind. After she left the Mayfield High School, she joined the BRIT school and got associated with a girl group at the age of 17. Jessie J was then contracted to Gut Records, home to Jimmy Sommerville and Tom Jones, but unfortunately, the label went bust before it could release any of her music.
Jessie J's illustrious music career took off after she found immense success as a songwriter. She got contracted by Sony ATV publishing contract and then co-written the famous party song 'Party in the USA' with the producer Claude Kelly and Doctor Luke, for the ace singer Miley Cyrus. Jessie J's single titled 'Do It Like a Dude' was released in November 2010 in the UK. The track became an immediate hit and was regularly played on BBC Radio 1.
After some fine songs and great compositions, she earned herself a position on Later Live With Jools Holland. She performed an acoustic version of one of her best song 'Price Tag'. It was then announced that the track will be released as a single in 2011 and will also feature the famous rapper B.o.B. who will perform additional vocal duties. This single was followed by an album titled Who You Are.
Jessie J's music became immensely popular and has also appeared on film soundtracks: Her song 'Who You Are' was there in the third instalment of the franchise film series Step Up, Step Up 3D and her song 'Sexy Silk' was used in the 2010 comedy film, Easy A.
