The Indian writer, Meera basically writes all her literary works in Malayalam. Initially, she had worked as the Journalist in the Malayala Manorama. However, she decided to resign this job in order to concentrate more on her passion for writing. In the year 2001, she actually started writing fiction. Most prominently, she released her first short story collection book titled as Ormayude Njarambu in the year 2002. All through her writing career lifetime, she has published 5 short story collections, 2 novellas, 5 novels, and 2 children's books. Due to her excellent works, she was responsible for winning many awards among which the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award is the popular one. She earned this award for the short story collection namely Ave Maria in the year 2009.
Most evidently, one of her novels named as Aarachaar is popularly considered as the best literary works produced in the language of Malayalam during g the year 2012. This novel helped her to earn the plethora of awards such as Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award again in the year 2013, Odakkuzhal Award in the same year, Vayalar Award in the next year, and Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award again in the year 2015. As a matter of fact, this novel was also mentioned in the shortlist made for DSC Prize for South Asian literature in the year 2016.
