Katie Barberi started her acting career at the age of twelve with Television series Kids Incorporated in 1984. She made her film debut in 1986 with the film Ferris Bueller's Day Off, with an uncredited role. Her next venture The Garbage Pail Kids Movie became a huge hit.
After having experienced a prosperous career as a teen aged actress in Hollywood, she then commenced on a second career: working in Latin-American "telenovelas." It is a lesser known fact that Latin soap opera are actually televised in over 40 countries as optimal series. This provided Katie the opportunity to establish herself as a much known prime-time actress in the Latin market. She is well-versed with English and Spanish and is very thankful to have the advantage of being a part of two different cultures. Katie is now advanced to a Veteran of the Telenovela category, having acted in nineteen of them for Telemundo, Televisa and Univision. Katie is proud of the fact that that her Nickelodeon series "Grachi" have completed 300 episodes. In both Spanish and English, Katie essayed the funny, shoe obsessed mother of "Maddie/Matilda", "Ursula."
