Prashanta Nanda was born on 02-05-1947 in the state of Odisha, India. He is an Indian Film Actor, Politician, Film Director, Screenwriter, Lyricist, Playback Singer & Music Director who known for his work in Odia and Hindi films.
A very famous face and kind personality of the Ollywood, Prashanta Nanda was born on May 2, 1947, in the state of India, Odisha. He worked in Oriya film industry as an actor, director, playback singer, lyricist, and screenwriter also as a Music Director. Nanda was not the only fame of Ollywood but he made his name in Bollywood industry too. He is a politician and also served as Former Minister of Odisha. He is a member of 12th and 14th Odisha Legislative Assembly. He is also the member of the Biju Janta Dal, a political party in Odisha. Also, he managed affiliations with other political parties. He was the leader of BJP and resigned in 2007 and then joined NCP.
Nanda debut from “Nua Bou” in 1962, which was an award-winning movie. This film was a great inspirational one which showed the cultural and social scenario of the rural Indian villages at that time. He played a lead role in the Bollywood Film “Naiyya” which came in 1979. Also, the direction of this film was done by Nanda. He directed over twenty films and worked as music directed in Ghar Sansar in 1993. In acting career, he made many movies that were National award winning but till now he did not get any National Award for any featured film. In 2007, he also awarded with the Lifetime achievement award in Odisha Filmfare Award.

Jianta Bhoota in 2009 was National awarded under National Film Award for Best Non-Featured Film in the year 2009. Prashanta Nanda also joined many charitable trusts with the Bollywood celebrities, such as TeachAIDS and in HIV prevention.
