Rahul Gandhi is a member of parliament who is best known for his idiosyncrasies and foolish behavior. He is the son of Late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. The struggling politician is the vice-president of Indian National Congress that is in its rapid decline. The 46-year old politician is an alumnus of Harvard University and Trinity College, Cambridge. After completing his studies he worked for Monitor Group, a London-based consultancy firm. Sometime later he left the job and started his own consultancy firm in Mumbai named Backops Services Pvt. Ltd. However, he did not pursue it and entered politics in 2004.
He contested from Amethi, UP, his father's constituency and won his first Lok Sabha seat. In 2007, he was made the General Secretary of Congress party. In 2014, he was made vice-president for his hard work. He headed the 2014 general elections in which Congress only won 44 seats as compared to 2009 elections wherein it had won a total of 206 seats. No one blamed Rahul Gandhi for the defeat but it confirmed the fact that the last of the Gandhi family had no political career.
The Congress party has seen a sharp decline in their votes since then. Be it because of anti-incumbency, too much corruption committed by Congress over the years, Modi-wave or Rahul Gandhi's inabilities, but Congress is seeing its rapid decline. In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Smriti Irani from BJP fought against Rahul on his home turf and lost by a mere margin of 107000 votes. Under his leadership, the party has been at its worst.
