Ranjini Haridas is a household name in Kerala. She shot to fame after winning the Miss Kerala crown in the year 2000. She is arguably one of the top anchors of Malayalam television shows. She was also heavily criticised for her poor Malayalam accent. Her dressing sense has always been scrutinised but against all odds, she has risen from ranks and became one of the most decorated celebrities of Malayalam entertainment industry.
Ranjini began her career as a child artist in Geetham in 1986. She then became a host and hosted several events like Amrita TV Film Awards, Asianet Film Awards, Flowers TV awards, Asiavision Awards, SIIMA, and Flowers TV awards among others. In 2007, she was signed as a host of Idea Star Singer for season 2. Through this show, she won everybody’s hearts and kept on hosting the show till season 6. For hosting the show, she also won Asianet Television Best Anchor Award.
In addition to hosting, she also performs and writes poems too. She garnered huge publicity when the legendary Argentine Footballer Diego Maradona came to Alappuzha to inaugurate Chemmanur Jewelers. She was the host of the event and invited the footballer to shake a leg with her. While dancing, she kissed the footballer and it created a lot of controversies. Few media report suggested that two are dating each other but she denied and said it’s a privilege for her to be linked with such an icon.
She recently roped in to host Asianet’s network’s new show called Run Baby Run wherein she interviews various celebrities. She has made cameo roles in films like China Town and Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty. She played her first lead role in the Malayalam film titled Entry in 2013. She was last seen in Syam-Praveen’s film titled Otta Oruthiyum Shariyalla in 2013.
