Srinivas has done Masters in Mechanical Engineering based on Finite Element Analysis and worked for Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. He is one among the best actors, who went to a film school in the US prior to making his debut in Telugu. He has received a diploma in screenwriting from University of California, Los Angeles. Then he attended acting classes at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute New York City. He has also worked at the Universal Studios as a script screener.
Avasarala Srinivas has made his acting debut in Ashta Chamma which was a box office hit. He was also Nominated for "Best Supporting Actor for Ashta Chamma" at the 56th South Filmfare awards 2009. Subsequently, he has acted in movies like Orange, Pilla Zamindar, Mugguru, Golconda High School and Anthaka Mundu Aa Tharuvatha are to name a few.
He made his debut as a director with Telugu movie Oohalu Gusa Gusalade in 2014. In this movie, he also played an important and interesting role of a tv channel head.
In 2015 he was seen in the movies Jil, Yevade Subramanyam, Bandipotu, Kanche. The year 2016 is best one for Avasarala. He was seen in the films Nannaku Prematho, Raja Cheyyi Vesthe, A Aa, Gentleman, Oka Manasu and has directed Jo Achyutananda.
