Ami Trivedi was born in a family with a strong theater background. Since her father was a veteran of Gujarati Theatre she along with her brother Karan Trivedi started doing child actor’s role in her father’s plays. In addition to theater plays, she also acted in some Gujarati and Hindi television series in child artist roles. As a child artist, she appeared in Hindi series such as The Zee Horror Show and Humraahi.  In the mid-1990s, she took a break from acting to focus on her studies. She always dreamt of becoming a doctor but couldn’t become and obtained her graduate degree in Science from the Jai Hind College in Mumbai.

 

After completion of her studies, she returned back to the world of acting and decided to build her career in acting. Since her family was into theater, she easily got roles and soon after started getting television roles as well. She got her first major break on the small screen with the television series Babul Ki Duwayen Leti Jaa in 2000. The following year, she got a role in the famous television series Khichdi. She joined the show with its inception in 2002 and worked in the show till its conclusion in 2004.

 

She after going through an audition process bagged the titular role in Kittu Sab Janti Hai in 2005. After which, she played the lead role in numerous television series such as Bajega Band Baaja and Papad Pol - Shahabuddin Rathod Ki Rangeen Duniya among others. She is currently working on the series titled Tedi Medi Family.

 

In addition to performing, she has also worked as a dubbing artist. She dubbed Harry Potter’s voice in the Hindi version of the first movie of the series. After which, she worked as a dubbing artist for few animated films such as Big Hero 6, Barbie Mariposa and The Incredibles among others.
