Ankita Lokhande was always keen on making acting as her career. She left her studies in the midst and came to Mumbai to try her hand at acting. She made her career debut with the popular talent show namely Zee Cine Stars Ki Khoj (Season 1) as one of the contestants.
In 2008 she was chosen to play the role in NDTV Imagine’s Bali Umar Ko Salaam but due to some unknown reasons the show never went on air. She got the popularity from her role of a middle-class simple girl in Pavitra Rishta, aired on Zee TV. Ankita also performed in television Dance Reality Show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa aired on Sony Television.
Apart from this, she did comic acts in Comedy Circus in 2011. In 2013 she got another role in serial Ek Thi Nayka. Ankita has been awarded as Great Face of the Year 2010 by Indian Television Academy Awards for Pavitra Rishta. Along with this, she has won Most Popular Television Personality of the Year in Indian Telly Awards 2012 and Best Actress in Drama Series for Pavitra Rishta by Star Guild Awards 2014.
Ankita shared a very good on-screen and off-screen chemistry with her co-star of Pavitra Rishta, Sushant Singh Rajput. But, the duo broke up in the year 2016 and have successfully moved forward in their lives. In 2019, she has made her Bollywood debut with Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi's film "Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi" along-with most talented actress Kangana Ranaut. She plays the role of Jhalkaribai in this movie. The film (language: Tamil, Hindi & Telugu) has been released on 25-01-2019 in more than fifty countries on 3700 screens. She was recently seen in Bollywood film Baaghi 3 alongside Tiger Shroff, Ritiesh Desmukh, and Shraddha Kapoor.
