Bansi was born in the capital city of Jammu & Kashmir in Srinagar on 23rd August 1949. Bansi Kaul is a well-known Theatre Artist, Director and a Designer from Kashmir. He is best known for his performance Kehn Kabir, based on works of noted poet Saint Kabir.

Bansi Kaul Complete Bio & Career

Bansi Kaul completed his graduation from the renowned National School of Drama, New Delhi in 1973. He began his career as a Director with NSD Repertory Company. He initially was employed as a teacher with NSD. In 1984 he established his own theatric group Rang Vidushak. He blended folk idioms in his plays which resulted in the advancement of a new idiom in clown-theatre. He procured strength from common people and humor in everyday’s life and included it in his plays. 
He also works largely for theatre music. Modern Dance, Akhada, Indigenous village games, Natgiri and Music are the various kinds that are associated with his plays. Apart from being an Artist and Director he is also a well-known designer. He is a distinguished visualizer and designer of space and never afraid of experimenting with several colors and designs. He keeps conducting workshops for kids. For his contribution to the field of arts, he was conferred with Kalidas Samman in 2016.
