    Brendan Rogers is an Irish football player. He started his career as a defender at Northern Irish football club Ballymena United. After spending 3 years with them, he went to Reading. He suffered a genetic knee injury and had to retire at the young age of 20. For 1 year, he served as the coach and academy director of Reading. After that, he started playing again for non-league football at Newport (IOW), Witney Town, and Newbury Town. He finally retired after 1996 season and went to Spain to study coaching methods.
     
    Jose Mourinho asked him to leave reading and join Chelsea as a youth manager in the year 2004. A couple of years later, he was promoted to reserve manager at Chelsea. In 2008, he served as a manager of English football club Watford and then again returned to his former club Reading in the year 2009. After some disappointing results, he left the club and joined Welsh football club Swansea City in the year 2010. During his term Welsh became the first team from Wales to qualify for Premiere league. He was then invited by Liverpool as their manager in 2012. In 2013-14 season Liverpool finished as first runners-up. However, the following season was disappointing and after a mutual consent he left the club and joined Celtic in 2016. In 2016, he left Celtic and joined Leicester City in 2019.
