    Crazy Mohan’s actual name is Mohan Rangachari. While, he was in college, he wrote a skit for an inter college contest. The skit won him the Best Writer and Best Actor’s Award. He received the awards from the legendary Kamal Haasan.  His first full-length play was Crazy Thieves which was a huge hit and gave him the name “Crazy Mohan”. After writing for various productions, he finally established his own troupe called Crazy Celebrations in the year 1979.
     
    From stage shows to films his journey was highly inspiring. He made his debut in the Tamil film industry as a dialogue and script writer through the film titled Poikkal Kudhirai in the year 1983. He then went on to write script for various comedy Tamil films which mostly had Kamal Haasan as the lead hero. Some of his famous works include Sathi Leelavathi,  Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Kaathala Kaathala,  Indian, Apoorva Sagodharargal, Thenali, Panchathanthiram, Vasool Raja MBBS and  Avvai Shanmughi among various others. From silver screen, he turned to small screen and his written series titled Vidathu Sirippu was the winner of Best Comedy Serial award from Mylapore Academy in the year 2005.
     
    He is also a sketch artist and has sketched portraits of various eminent personalities. He also used to pen Venba every day and in his lifetime, he penned down over 40k Venba’s.
