Since childhood, Deepika had been interested in dancing and acting. Deepika graduated from Mumbai University. After completing her studies, Deepika became an air hostess in Jet Airways. She worked as an Air Hostess for three years. However, she left the Jet Airways job later, due to health problems. It was the new journey of her career in the entertainment world. She afterwards decided to opt acting as her full-time career and she made her acting debut through the daily soap opera 'Neer-Bhare-Tere- Naina-Devi' as Lakshmi in the year 2010. Later she was cast in the soap opera  ' Agle-Janam-Mohe-Bitiya-Hi-Kijo' and played the supporting role aired on Zee TV.

 

When she played a leading role in the Sasural Simar Ka series in 2011, her destiny has changed completely. The Soap opera 'Sasural Simar Ka' and this role helped to establish a position in the television industry and it may become a turning point for her career. This television series became really immensely popular and Deepika was known as ' Simar' even amongst the people. Now even now, people know her with the name of Simar. She left the show Sasural Simar Ka in the year 2017.
