Charney was highly influenced by Montreal culture however when he was 15 years he started falling in love with America and started getting attracted to American made products. This inspiration made him start his first business in fashion industry, while he was still in high school where he started importing Hanes and Fruit of the Loom t-shirts and claims that around 10000 shirts at a time he has shipped.

 

Later in the year 2003 Dov started his first retail store with an employee size of 1300 people and he was the one of the founder and CEO at American Apparel and due to some reasons he was forced to leave the position but he successfully came back with a new brand called That’s Los Angeles.

 

The reason behind choosing that as a brand name is because of his love for California. It a basic brand targeted for both men and women and aiming to build a wholesale business. With respect to his new brand, he believes that he will able to touch revenue of $30 million within a year.

 

Dov is not only a successful entrepreneur but he also designs the pattern for T-shirts which he introduced in the market. Dov was the pioneer in introducing tight and fitted shirt in the 90s and early 2000s when most of it was loose and baggy. Now he working on a new design and fit for the next decade.

 

Dov has seen highest of highs and lowest of lows in his illustrious career.
