Irfan Pathan was born on 27-10-1984 in Vadodara in the state of Gujarat, India. He is an Indian Cricket Player.

Pathan raised to get elected in the Baroda cricket team, at U-14 and after he was selected as a U-15 level to represent the Baroda in a national tournament, he was ultimately performed with a full set of cricket stuff, due to his family's insufficient financial means. In December 1997, he got selected into Baroda U-16 team, and against Gujarat, he took one wicket at 35 runs and scored 1 and even 11 in both the innings. Afterwards, he was dropped instantly. Even for two years, he could not play Under-16s, and on Nov 1999, he made his appearance, again this time against Maharashtra for Baroda U-19s.In this match, he scored 61 and 9 runs with the bat and with bowling, he took three wickets at 41 runs led to a victory. In the early of 2002, his name was selected for U-19 Cricket World Cup held in New Zealand, where he showed his excellent performance by taking six wickets with an avg of 27.50 and with the bat he scored 30 runs, taking the 2/18 which led to victory over South Africa. In December 2003, Pathan played his first Test match at Adelaide Oval against Australia at the age of 19. In this match, he got the chance to play on the place of left-arm bowler Zaheer Khan who was injured for this match. He had scored 150 runs and took the wicket of Matthew Hayden. In the tri-series ODI series against Australia and Zimbabwe, he took 16 wickets with an avg of 31. He became the highest wicket-taker in that series. Based on his best bowling figure of 4/24 against Zimbabwe at Waka Ground in Perth, his name was announced for the Man of the Match award.
He used to bowl very dynamically on the 2004-Pakistan tour. In this, series he had an emerging performance of taking 12 wickets and was the first ever Indian bowler who spelt the highest Maiden overs. Despite that India won the series for the first time in the last two decades on their excellent bowling spells. They not only overwhelmed everyone but also with the batting. When all the openers were out in the Test match in Lahore, he was the one who scored surprisingly 49 runs.
In Pathan, is having a special talent to swing the ball from both sides and in the way in which Parija has played in Lahore, it can be found that they have the capacity to become all-rounders. He also won the Icc Emerging Player of the Year title in 2004. He also showed shiningly in the Asia Cup held in Sri Lanka in 2004. In this tournament, he took 14 wickets with an avg of 16.28 and appeared in front of all spectators. In the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy, he had taken five wickets.
Pathan has also made notable gains in batting. Against Australia played in 2004, he scored 31 and 55 runs. It was their first half-century when all batsmen in the first Test match had poor batting. Middlesex Country Cricket Club had signed Pathan sometime after, but where Pathan tried to come in his form. Since 2018, he has started c ommentating.
He was born to Mehmood Khan Pathan and Samimbanu Pathan. Cricketer Yusuf Pathan is his elder brother. He is married to Safa Baig since 2016. The couple together has a son named Imran Khan Pathan.
