Jack Ma is arguably one of the world’s greatest examples of entrepreneurship in the modern era. He wasn’t born rich as he did odd jobs for his survival and served as a tourist or guides. He though was clear of his dreams and therefore left no stone unturned to rise from the ranks and achieve success. 
 
He realised that if he wants to be a global entrepreneur, he will have to learn English and thus that was the first step that he took. He was among the first few individuals who realised what internet have brought to the table and saw Internet as a business opportunity at a time when not just Chinese but even other countries laughed in his thoughts. He started his maiden venture with an investment of mere $20000. In a matter of 3 years, he converted those 20000 dollars to $800,000. He came to prominence after he founded his venture ‘Alibaba’ in the early 2000s. This venture of him earned him a global recognition. This venture of his made him the richest man in China and Asia in a span of just 6 years after he started this venture.
 
Post the success of Alibaba, he co-founded a few more ventures similar to Alibaba and most of them were successful. .One such venture which needs a special mention is the e-commerce website called ‘Taobao’. Over the years, he has also been a recipient of various prestigious awards besides being featuring in coveted magazines like ‘Forbes’, and ‘Time’ among others.
 
In addition to an entrepreneur, he has also made his acting debut through the Chinese short film titled  Gong Shou Dao in the year 2017.. He is also knwon for his charitable activities and has founded various organizations and most notable of them being Alibaba Hong Kong Young Entrepreneurs Foundation through which he provides funds to budding entrepreneurs.
