Jamuna is an Indian Politician & Actress, who worked predominantly in Telugu Cinema. Her her full name is Jamuna Nippani. She was born on 30th August 1936 in Hampi, Karnataka.

Jamuna Complete Bio & Career

She was born to mother Kausalya Devi and a businessman father Nippani Srinivas Rao. She spent her childhood in Duggirala, District Guntur of Andhra Pradesh. She used to perform on stage in her school time.

Once she was performing at a stage show titled Maa Bhoomi and Dr. Garikipati Raja Rao got impressed by her performance. He offered her a role in his movie Puttillu. Puttillu was released in 1952 when she was 16 years old. She has worked in over 200 Telugu films. She has played role in Tamil, Kannada and Hindi films as well. Her famous Telugu movies are Bangaru Papa, Muddu Bidda, Ekaveera, Samsaram and Thodu Needa etc. Kannada movies are Sakshatkara and Ratnagiri Rahasya. Tamil movies are Kudumbam, Sumangali, Dakshayagnam etc. Hindi movies are Miss Mary, Ek Raaz, Hamrahi, Milan, Rishte Nate and Beti Bête. She has started a Telugu Artist Association for social work. In 1980 she stepped into politics by joining Congress Party. In 1989 she got elected to Lok Sabha from Rajahmundry Constituency.

She was born to Nippani Srinivas Rao and Kausalya Devi. She was married to a zoology professor Juluri Ramana Rao in 1965. He passed away in 2014 because of cardiac arrest. They have two children, daughter Sravanthi and son Vamsikrishna. Currently, Jamuna is working as a board of director for some schools and living in Hyderabad.
