Lala Lajpat Rai Aggarwal was born on 28th January 1865 in Dhudike, Punjab, British India. He was an Indian Freedom Fighter, Revolutionary, Activist, Politician, Writer, Author, Autobiographer & Founder of Hisar Bar Council, Hisar Congress, Hisar Arya Samaj etc. He was popularly called as Punjab Kesari.

Lala Lajpat Rai Complete Bio & Career

Lalaji was one of the foremost leaders who raised his voice against the British Rule in India. In 1880, Lala Lajpat Rai enrolled in the Government College at Lahore to study Law. During his college days, he made friends with patriots and future freedom fighters like Pandit Guru Dutt and Lala Hans Raj. The trio became best friends and joined the Arya Samaj, which was founded by Swami Daya Nand Saraswati. He then worked as the editor of Arya Gazette.
 
He toured the US in 1907 and penned down a book titled The United States of America, which was published in 1916. After returning to India he was elected as the President of Congress in the Calcutta Special Session held in 1920. He was one of the key participants in the formation of Lakshmi Insurance Company and Punjab National Bank.
 
In his remembrance, the bus terminus in Jagraon in Punjab is named after him. In addition to various institutes and libraries, roads in metro cities of India are named after him.

He stood forward and protested against Simon Commission and was lathi-charged by police. He was severely injured and finally died of heart-attack on 17-11-1928 in a hospital at Lahore, Pakistan at the age of 63.
