Luis Nani Complete Bio & Career
Nani joined the club, Real Sports Clube at the age of 16 in Massama, where he joined the youth section of the Portuguese capital city club, which gave him his first professional contract in 2005. For the season 2005/06, he made his debut in the Super League. In the following year, he was able to achieve his first success with the Green-Whites.
For the 2007/08 season, he still had a contract until 2009, joined the Premier League winner Manchester United. There, the young professional received a contract until 2012. In the beginning, he lived together with his national team and new teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. On 12 Aug 2007, he celebrated his debut in the Premier League against FC Reading when he came on as a substitute for Wayne Rooney in the second half. In his first season with Manchester United, he won both the Champions League and the Premier League. In the 2009/10 season, he was able to fight for a regular place at Manchester United and extended his contract until 2014. When winning the English Supercup on 7 August 2011 he contributed two goals to 3- 2 success of his team against city rivals Manchester City.
On Aug 2014, Nani, after he had been used for United on Matchday 1, returned to the end of the season on loan to Sporting Lisbon. In return, Marcos Rojo moved to Manchester for 20 million euros. At the end of the season, he won the Portuguese Cup with the club. For the season 2015/16, he no longer to Manchester United back, but moved to the Turkish first division Fenerbahçe Istanbul. For the season 2016/17, he moved to the Spanish La Liga for Valencia. He received until 30 June 2019 dated three-year contract. He came in 26 league operation
s, in which he scored five goals. For the 2018/19 season Nani did not return to Valencia, but for the second time to Sporting Lisbon.
He played his first international match for the Portuguese national team and was used in the following years as a supplementary player. For his debut, a match in the 2-4 defeat against Denmark. Since 2008 he is a regular player in the national team. At the European Championships in 2008, he came with Portugal to the quarter-finals, where the team retired against Germany. In May 2010, he was nominated in the squad for the 2010 World Cup. However, three days before the start of the Games, he injured his shoulder and had to withdraw his participation in the World Cup. At the 2014 World Cup Nani scored in the second group match against the USA, the first goal in a 2-2 draw. Despite a victory in the last group match against Ghana Portugal was eliminated due to the poorer Goal against the Americans in the first round.
At the 2016 European Championship Nani shot his first goal in an opening match against Iceland in a European Championship. This was also the 600th goal of European history. In the final group match, he equalled in the 3: 3 draw against Hungary, the first lead of the opponent. In the final against France, he was with Portugal for the first time European champion.
