Mia was interested in dancing when she was very young and learnt tap, ballet and jazz when she was just 3 years old. Her parents encouraged her to take up contemporary dance as well and for that, she also attended some sessions at popular dancing schools. As a choreographer, she has choreographed several popular celebrities like Tom Cruise, Ricky Martin, Madonna, Celine Dion and Catherine Zeta Zones. She had choreographed ‘A New Day’ for Celine Dion which was highly appreciated by the audience.

 

Mia was also the choreographer for ‘Delirium’ which was her first touring show. It starred popular rock stars like Ricky Martin, Celine Dion, Madonna, Prince etc. It was a massive hit worldwide and Mia received positive reviews for her choreography. She has been a jury member in the show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. She also acted as a judge for different versions of the show which were aired in Australia, UK and Canada. She was also part of the movie ‘Move’ in the year 2010. She was also one of the leading choreographers to pay tribute to the dancing legend Michael Jackson.

 

Mia has also received several awards and accolades as a choreographer. She won the Emmy Awards thrice for the show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ in the year 2007, 2009 and 2010. She also won other awards like Jazz Dance World Congress and Dance Educators of America in the year 1992.
