Michael Jai White is a well known martial artist and American actor. He went to Central High School. He learned under Master Eddie Morales to sharpen Goju karate techniques. He holds black belts in styles including Taekwondo, Shotokan, Kobudo, Tang Soo Do, Goju Ryu  Kyokushin, and Wushu. He has a particular focus on style 'Kyokushin '. He started taking training in Shotokan and Jujutsu when he was just 7 years old. Later he worked on other styles as well. He was a teacher and used to cite history in education.

 

His first major break role was in the movie 'Tyson' by HBO where he played a character' Mike Tyson', a heavyweight boxer. He was the first African American who was cast as a superhero of a comic book in the motion picture with a move 'Spawn'. He played a fighter character in it in 1997. He was featured against Jean-Claude Van Damme in the film 'Universal Soldier: The Return'.He and Steven Seaga (Martial artist) were part of the movie 'Exit Wounds' in 2001. He worked in "I Know What You Want" music video in 2003. He started working as a voice artist for Justice League and Static Shock.

 

'Undisputed II: the Last Man Standing' is his DVD showing his skills in martial arts.'Silver Hawk' in 2004 and Kill Bill: Volume 2  is his movies. He received huge success for the movie 'Why Did I Get Married? ' in 2007. He then worked in movies like ' The Dark Knight',  'Blood and Bone' and worked as a writer for 'Black Dynamite'. He appeared in a music video 'Pulse' and "Your Love". He made his debut as a director of a movie 'Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown' in 2011.
