Mohan Babu was born on 19 March 1952. His real name is Manchu Bhakthavatsalam Naidu. He is an actor and producer by profession in Telugu Film Industry. He completed his studies at the Madras Film Institute and YMCA College of Physical Education. He commenced his career as a physical education instructor at YMCA college.
From his childhood days, he wanted to become an actor and was looking for opportunities for the same. In 1969, he got the chance to work with a director named, Lakshmi Deepak which later on landed him into the film industry. Initially, he served as the background artist. Later on, he got the lead roles in films like Kannavari Kalalu in 1974 and Alluri Seetha Rama Raju. He rose to fame when he did the film titled, Swargam Narakam in 1975. The movie was directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. He did a villain role in this film. After this movie, he was nicknamed as Mohan Babu.
In addition to these films, he did lead roles in films like Ketugadu, Assembly Rowdy, Allari Mogudu, and Khaidi Kalidasa. He was a lover of arts. He always appreciated the arts. He took no time in reaching the peaks of success and establishing his mark in the industry. He was regarded as the finest actor in the industry. The movie titled, Sivaranjani in 1978 proved to be a turning point in his career. The movie came out to be a blockbuster. Other films in which he acted include Simha Baludu, Nayudu Bava, Billa Ranga, Dharma Poratam, and Sanchalanam.
