He did post graduation in Theatre Arts from the Madurai Kamaraj University. By the late 90s, Mohan established himself as an award-winning scriptwriter in the local television industry. In his short-lived career, he had the privilege to work with noted directors like John Martin, BV Karanth, Maya Tangberg and Kavalam Narayana Panicker as an associate.

 

Mohan Raghavan penned down the screenplay for the telefilm Oru Veettammayude Diary, which ended up winning a national award. Subsequently, he was drawn to the world of cinema. He worked as assistant director under Siddique Shameer, KP Kumaran, and Salim Padiyath. He scripted screenplay for the films  Nammal Thammil and Kanmashi.

 

He made his directorial debut in 2010 with the film TD Dasan Std 6 B. The film was well acclaimed by most of the critics and the local audience and won acclaim during the International Film Festivals like CIFF, IFFK, and PIFF.
