Paresh Rawal is an Indian actor/politician born in a Gujarati family. At the age of 22 he moved to Mumbai for his higher studies.  He is an alumnus of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management, Mumbai.  

 

Rawal made his Bollywood debut with film Arjun in 1985 as a supporting role. But it was after the movie Naam (1986), which was the blockbuster he got fame and established his name in Bollywood. After that he featured in many movies like Ram Lakhan, Baazi, AndazApnaApna, Aankhein, Hera Pheri etc. To this day his role of Ganpatrao Apte (Hera Pheri) is very famous. His amazing performance Oh My God needs a special mention. 

 

Now he is one of the top actors of Bollywood. He got Filmfare for the movies like Raja, Hera Pheri, Awara Pagal Deewana. He also won National award for Who Chokri and Sir. In his possession he also has Star screen award, IIFA award and Zee Cine award. In 2014, he won Padma Shri. Not only in acting but he is also active in production and politics. He is member of Bhartiya Janta Party and in 2014 he also became Member of Parliament from Ahmadabad.
