Patrick Mahomes father Pat Homes was a former MLB Pitcher. Hence he too decided to become a sportsman from a very early age. He was raised in Whitehouse, Texas. During his school days, he used to play baseball, basketball, and American football. He continued playing American football during his college days at Texas Tech University. After a few good seasons during his time in University, he was finally included in NFL Draft in the year 2017. He was finally picked by Kansas City Chiefs. 

 

He inked a four year deal worth $16.42 with Kansas City Chiefs. After warming the bench in initial games, he finally got an opportunity after Alex Smith was rested. Post that, he played most of the games for Chiefs and proved his worth. Chiefs traded Alex Smith in 2018 and made him their starting quarterback for the 2018 season. He had a great season and also broke few records such as the NFL record for touchdown passes thrown in the first two weeks of the season. He also won player of the week award twice and became the second player after Tom Brandy in 2011 to do so. He was also named AFC Offensive Player of the Month for September 2018. He won various awards in just his second season and thereby proved Chief’s audacious move correct. He though had a mediocre 2019 season but the Kansas decided to continue with him for the 2020 seasons as well. In his young career, he has broken various records and has won various awards as well.

 

Some of his records include becoming the fastest player to throw for over 3,000 yards in his first 10 games. He is also the fastest to reach 7,500 career passing yards in just 24 games. He has also inked endorsement deals with popular brands such as Oakley, Hy-Vee, Essential Water and Adidas among others.
