Paul James O'Grady, MBE is a popular English comedian, actor, as well as a writer, a television presenter, and a radio disc jockey. He had got a huge popularity by his comedic character, "Lily Savage". He is also a popular television presenter. His one of the popular shows was The Paul O'Grady Show. Through the creation of the drag queen character named Lily Savage, he had made his first effort towards a drag act. He was working for the Camden Social Services by that time.
 
He had made his debut on the 7 October 1978, which was done in Camden’s The Black Cap gay pub. His performance was done by involving with miming the sentences of "Nobody Makes a Pass at Me" of Barbra Streisand. He was very famous for his acting in the role of a transvestite prostitute informant in the television. It was in the ITV's police drama The Bill’s three episodes, which was between the year 1988 and 1990. He had made his appearance in the role of Tony Donaldson of the ITV miniseries Chimera. His role was about one social worker, who was skilled in the signing, especially for the deaf. He had performed in an episode of Rik Mayall's ITV comedy named The New Statesman. The name of his role was Marlene Dietrich.
