Poonam Bajwa was born and brought up in Mumbai in a Punjabi family. She came to limelight after she won Miss Pune title at the age of 16. After that, she started modeling while pursuing her studies as well. She meanwhile, got an offer to star in a Telugu film titled Modati Cinema which she accepted and made her acting debut through this film. She shot to fame after her performance in V.N. Aditya’s Telugu romantic film titled Boss, I Love You which released in the year 2006. The same year, she starred in Kannada film Thangigagi.

 

She then started appearing in Tamil films as well and was a part of some big budget Tamil films such as Drohi, and Thambikottai among others. Soon after she started getting offers from Malayalam films as well and thus, she worked in all south Indian language films. She worked with almost all the superstars of South Indian film industry of the current generation. Some of her films which need special mention are Drohi, China Town, and Romeo Juliet among various others.
