Prema was born on 06-01-1977 in Kodagu in the state of Karnataka, India. She is an Indian Film Actress who is famous for her work in Kannada movies as well as Telugu, Tamil & Malayalam cinema.
Prema Complete Bio & Career
Prema completed her high school level education from Mahila Seva Samaj School in her district. She then enrolled at the Murnad Junior College in Kodagu for Pre-University course. She actively took part in sports during her school and college days.
She began her acting career with the Kannada film Savyasachi in the year 1995. In her very next film OM, she won herself Karnataka State Film Award Best Actress award. The following year in 1996, she won Udaya Film Award for Best Actress for her film Nammoora Mandara Hoove. In just 1 year, she established herself in the Kannada film industry. Post that, she branched out to Malayalam and Telugu film industry and made her debut with The Prince and Dharma Chakram films respectively. Post her Telugu film debut, she starred in half a dozen Telugu films on a trot.
By the year 2000, she became one of the most sought after actress in the south Indian film industry working mostly in Kannada and Telugu films. She got married in 2006 and just worked in the movies that she signed previously. She took retirement from films in the year 2009. Post her divorce, she again made a comeback in the film with the film titled Upendra Matte Baa in the year 2017.
