Rajat Sharma Complete Bio & Career
Rajat Sharma’s early days were spent living in a 10 x 10 room in old Delhi with seven siblings, an ailing mother, father and sister that too without any water and electricity. Schooling for him meant the shabbiest municipality school, bathing was supposed to be done at a communal bathing house and studying for him was sitting under the lamp post at a nearby railway station at night. Yet this humble man has managed to collect fond memories of his childhood. During his young days when television was still very new and a very rare thing for many, and the entire neighbourhood used to go to that one house which had a TV set. One day unlike others, he was denied entrance! Disappointed, he returned home and explained the whole thing to his father, to which his father beautifully replied that, Do something in life that you appear on television and other people watch you.
He just like any other person was searching for a summer job when he bumped into Janardan Thakur, who had just left Anandabazar Patrika, Old Delhi. Thakur was planning to start a syndicated column and someone to help him out. Without further ado, Rajat was hired as a researcher on a salary of INR 400/month. He started his TV career with Aap Ki Adalat, the interview program in the format of court. His first episode features Lalu Prasad Yadav and was aired on March 14, 1993. In 2004, along with other journalists, he launched India TV News channel and was highly applauded for the serious content of the channel. India TV is flourishing day by day and holds one of the best studios in India with state-of-the-art-technology. Aap Ki Adalat with Narendra Modi just before the General elections was iconic and broke all TRP rating records of TV news viewership and paves path Modi for prime ministership.
