Rakshanda Khan was born and raised in Mumbai. She attended Alexandra Girls English Institute and obtained her graduate degree from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. She started modelling and after some time started her acting career by acting in television series.

 

She acted in some of the most acclaimed Ekta Kapoor series and mostly played dark and negative roles. She became popular after playing the role of Mallika Seth in the famous television series Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi. Some of the best negative roles that she played were Isha Singhania in the series Bade Ace Lagte Hain, Tanya Virani in the series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Roshni Chopra in the series titled Kasam Se. All these performances made her one of the most sought-after actresses of the small screen. She of late played advocate role in series like Phulwa, Adaalat and Kitani Mohabbat Hai.

 

She has also served as the host of shows like Indian Idol 2, Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar and Jodi Kamaal Ki. She also participated as a contestant in series like Comedy Circus 20 - 20, and Meethi Choori No 1.
