One of the most famous filmmakers and actors of the South Indian film industry, Rakshit Shetty is one of the few people who listen to their heart and follow their passion. He is actually an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer, but he gave up his Engineering career for pursuing his career in the film industry.

 

Nam Areal Ondina was his first debut film as an actor which came out in 2010 and was a good film. However, Rakshit gained stardom after Simple Agi Ondh Love Story, which was a romantic comedy released in 2013. Success followed and with the release of Ulidavaru Kandanthe, he won the debut director award at Karnataka State Awards as well as the best director in South Filmfare. The film came out as a cult classic and has a passionate and long lasting fan base too. The Kannada audiences remark it as one of the best films ever made in history. Rakshit then starred in Vastu Prakaara that came out in 2015 and Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu in 2016 which claimed a lot of critical success.

 

His latest success was Kirik Party for which he won Best Lyricist and Best Actor at IIFA Utsavam, besides this, the film got nominated for Best Story at Karnataka state awards and Best Lyricist at IIFA Utsavam. He is a new wave in the filmmaking industry says the Karnataka media.

 

Rakshit is quite superstitious and believes in number games and lucky mascots. He owns a “Book of Dreams”, according to him whatever he writes in that book comes true, yet in the book, only two pages are filled. In the last three years, he has won 6 awards and 2 nominations in the leading awarding ceremonies. Being a regional film industry star, he has marked his presence in the media and the world through his astounding acting and directing skills.
