Ravish Kumar was born in a Brahmin family of Bhar. After completion of his school studoes, he relocated to Delhi for higher studies. He obtained his graduate degree from Deshbandhu College,, Delhi. He then enrolled at the prestigious Indian Institute of Mass Communication and obtained his post-graduate diploma in Hindi Journalism from there. After that, he started his career as a news anchor. Over the years, he has become one of the most sougt after news anchor in the country and is currently serving as the Managing editor of NDTV India. He has hoosted NDTV's flagship programs and has won various prestigious awards such as Ramon Magsaysay Award for journalism, and Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award for Hindi Journalism. He has also authored soome famous books such as Ishq Mein Shahar Hona, Dekhate Rahiye, and The Free Voice: On Democracy, Culture and the Nation among others.
