Sakshi Gulati was born in Meerut and grew up at various places as her dad was in Indian Army. She obtained her graduate degree from University of Delhi and also got trained in Salsa and Kathak. She participated in Femina Miss India 2007 and was the 1st runner up. She finally made her acting debut through a cameo role in Bollywood film Delhi Heights in the year 2007.

 

She played her first lead role in Ram Gopal Verma's Bollywood film Contract in the year 2008. The film boomed at the box-office and she too went unnoticed. A couple of years later, she again did a cameo role in the Bollywood film The Film Emotional Atyachar. After failing to get any offers in Bollywood, she turned toward Tollywood and made her Telugu film debut through Ram Gopal Varma's film Katha Screenplay Darshakatvam Appalaraju in the year 2011. She failed to impress the audience with her performance and waited on the sidelines for 6 years before she finally made her comeback through Telegu film Chitrangada in the year 2017. The same year, she also made her Punjabi film debut through the film titled Dushman which is to date her last film.
