Selenis Leyva was born on 26-05-1972 in Baracoa, Guantanamo, Cuba. She is a Cuban-American Television Actress, Film Actress & Theatre Actress.

Career

Selenis Leyva was born in the year 1972 in Baracoa, a city in Cuba. She was brought up in Bronx, in the City of New York. She is an American actress of Cuban origin well known for her exceptional acting skills in the Netflix comedy series, “Orange is the New Black”.
 
She started her career with theatre and performed in a number of productions at Off-Broadway. She has been active in the entertainment industry since 1999, and has done lead roles in television shows like “Law & Order”, “Third Watch”, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, “The Good Wife”, “The Sopranos”, “Elementary” and “Girls”. Her first film in 2000 was called “Debutante”.  In 2013, she started acting in the popular series “Orange is the New Black” and has completed three seasons of the same so far. In 2015, her new endeavour was a drama film called “Custody”, which was shot in a courtroom.
