Sheldon Jackson hails from the city of Bhavnagar in Gujarat. He played his junior cricket in Mumbai. While at a selection trial of KKR, he was spotted by Joydeep Mukherjee who himself was a first-class cricket player. They signed him in the year 2009 and is still playing for them. He made his first-class debut in December 2011.

He rose to prominence from the 2012-13 Ranji Trophy season where he scored four fifties and three centuries which included successive hundreds in the quarter-final and semi-final matches against Karnataka and Punjab respectively. It was he was instrumental in helping Saurashtra qualify for the final for the first time in their history of first-class cricket. After such power-packed performances, he was named in the India A team for the series against West Indies A. He was part of Saurashtra squad that won the 2015-16 Ranji final.

Jackson is multitalented and besides being a reliable middle-order batsman and a wicketkeeper, he is also an excellent fielder.
