Nakamura started his professional career in March 2002 by joining New Japan Pro Wrestling and quickly rose from ranks to be called "Super Rookie". His fan base grew with his magnificent skills, strength, and speed. He is a tough campaigner to deal with in the ring. He will never be forgotten by his fans for the time he had at NJPW. He was crowned IGWP Championship thrice in his career and was the youngest recipient of this title. He was also adept in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts).
