Shoaib Malik was born on 01-02-1982 in Sialkot in the state of Punjab, Pakistan. He is a Pakistani Cricket Player.

Career

Shoaib Malik is a famous Pakistani cricketer. He is a past captain of the Pakistani cricket team. He was inclined towards cricket from childhood and used to play street cricket with tape-ball. He joined Imran Khan's coaching clinics. He began his game as a batsman and then slowly developed his bowling skills. His family wanted him to concentrate on his studies and was often in trouble with him. He was selected for U-15 World Cup for his bowling in 1996. He was advised to focus on his off-spin bowling without bending his arm.
 
Gloucestershire County Cricket Club approached him in 2003 as a substitute for Ian Harvey. He was able to impress with his game in 3 ODI and 2  County Championship and his contract were renewed in 2004. He played many games and emerged out as an all-rounder, doing a great job both with bat and wicket. He was banned for 1 test by the Pakistan Cricket Board for deliberately losing a 20-20 match for the Sialkot Stallions. He has batted on 5 different positions during his test cricket career. He opened the innings for Pakistan in many OIDs and test matches and created a big impression. He had struggled on the international stage in England.
 
He gave a fresh start to the team after becoming the captain of the team, following the resignation of former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq. His team won the ODI series with a 2-1 lead against Sri Lanka at Abu Dhabi.It was his first series as a captain. His captaincy continued for the period of 2 years. Younis Khan succeeded him as a team captain in 2009. He was again banned for 1 year from the National team. He then played in 2010 Asia Cup. He made a comeback to international cricket and was part of the team winning  ICC Champions Trophy 2017. He plays domestic cricket for Sialkot Stallions. He was also captain of Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League in 2016.
