Shweta Tripathi completed her graduation from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi. After completion of her studies, she relocated to Mumbai to build a career in showbiz industry. Prior to entering the television industry, she was employed as a photograph editor and photography has always been her hobby. To sharpen her acting skills, she joined theatre and did participate in some plays as well.   She worked as a photography editor for the leading magazine Femina briefly.

 

She after a lot of struggle finally made her acting debut with the famous television series called Kya Mast Hain Life in the year 2009. Her portrayal of tomboy Zenia Khan won several hearts and made her a household name. She made her film debut with the British-Swedish-Indian film titled Trishna in the year 2011. The film was based on Thomas Hardy’s much-acclaimed novel Tess of the d'Urbervilles. The film after being premiered at various international film festivals finally released on 9th March 2012. The film garnered rave reviews and Shweta too was highly praised for her performance.

 

Shweta finally made her Bollywood debut with Neeraj Ghaywan’s film Masaan in 2015. The film though failed at the box-office but was applauded by critics. She then appeared in Haraamkhor in the year 2017. She was cast opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui in this film. This film too failed miserably at the box-office.

 

In addition to film and television, she has appeared in various commercials such as Tata Sky, McDonald’s and Tata Tea.
