Sivakumar was born with the name Palaniswamy Gounder on 27-10-1941 in Coimbatore in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. He is an Indian Film Actor, Television Actor, Soap Opera Actor & Visual Artist who is known for his work predominantly in Tamil cinema.

Sivakumar is the most talented actor in Tamil Film Industry. He has spent about a decade in the industry and worked with all famous artists in the Tamil film industry. He has played all types of roles from side roles to lead roles. He started acting from a very young age. His acting debut was made with the film ''Kakkum Karangal'' of 1965. He was named ''Paliniswami'' by his parents but later the industry gave him a new name ''Sivakumar''.

The actor never looked back after his first cast and worked in many popular films. His work set a benchmark in the industry and inspired the three generations. The films in which he has shown his talent and hard work are ''Annakilli, Avan Aval Andhu, Sindhu Bhairavi, Sethu, Agni Sakshi, Raja Raja Chozhan, Bhadrakali, Pasumpon, Illam, Nattupura Pattu, Ponnumani, Poonthalir, and many others.
