Tarundeep Rai was born on 22-02-1984 in Namchi in the state of Sikkim, India. He is an Indian Archer.

Tarundeep Rai Complete Bio & Career

Tarundeep Rai was influenced by his cousin brother Baichung Bhutia, the most famous footballer from India and took up Archery from a very young age. He made his Archery debut at the age of 19 in 2003 where he represented India at the Asian Archery Championship in Rangoon, Burma.  He first came into the reckoning when he won the Bronze Medal at the Nation championships in 2004 held at Jamshedpur. In the very same year, he represented India at the Olympics held in Athens, Greece. 
He helped India clinch a silver medal at the 2005 World Archery Championship held in Madrid, Spain. In 2006, Indian men’s team won a Bronze medal at the prestigious Asian Games held in Doha, Qatar. In 2010 Asian Games, he created history by winning an individual silver medal. He was among one of the most likely candidates for a medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics held in London.
For his contribution and achievement, he was awarded Arjuna Award in 2005.
His hobbies are to play football, go on drives and watch movies. 
Tarundeep Rai has arguably been one of the country’s finest archer to date and he has made India proud on several occasions. When he started archery, Indian archers were hardly provided good equipment. This star archer of India has contributed immensely in youngsters taking up this sport. There are various sponsors associated with the sport and all the archers are nowadays provided with the world-class equipment.
