Veeru Devgan has had a very interesting and inspiring life journey about which very few people are aware of. In the year 1957, Veeru and his friends left Amritsar with a dream of gaining success and fame in their lives. Veeru and his peeps sat in a train that went to Mumbai(the city where dreams are known to come true). Being in the prime years of their youth, they thought travelling without a ticket wouldn’t be quite an issue. Unfortunately, the whole squad including Veeru were caught by the police mid-way to Mumbai. They were told to either pay a heavy amount of fine or succumb to a week’s stay in the jail as compensation for their reckless act.
All of them ended up spending their first week outside a home in a jail cell. After they got released, Veeru’s friends tried to look for work in Mumbai, but couldn’t adjust to the life there and hence returned back to Amritsar. But the driving force and zeal to become something in life, made Veeru look harder for a job, sadly for the first few months he got through life by cleaning taxi’s and working in a carpenter’s workshop, after making several trips to film studios he realized acting in the movies wasn’t his cup of tea and that he had to do something different, that is when he learnt martial arts which began his journey in Bollywood as a stuntman for the movie Anita. After doing a few films as a stuntman, his innate talent towards action sequences was observed and appreciated and that is when he started working as an action choreographer.
Veeru Devgan has done about 81 movies as an action choreographer, which includes famous films like LalBadshaah, PremGranth, Dilwale, Jigar, Shahenshah, Mr. India, Boxer, Dostana, KhoonBhariMaang and so much more.
He has also tried acting in the movies Kranti and Sourabh. He has worked as a producer in Hindustan Ki Kasam and Di lKya Kare.In the year 1992, he wrote the script for the movie Jigar.
