A Kerela-born Indian actor, Sreenath (Sreenath Thoppil Inchora), died at 53 on April 23, 2010, leaving his wife and his son as his survivors. At the time of his death, he lived in a hotel in Kothamangalam, where he was shooting for his film, Shikar.
With his wrists slashed, there were suspicions of murder over suicide, but still, to this day, the reason for his death remains a mystery.
The 2000 Kerala State Television Awards Best Actor winner made his professional start in the film industry in 1978 and worked until his death.
Sreenath was widely renowned for starring in Douthyam, Koodum Thedi, Oru CBI Diary Kurippu, and Sethurama Iyer CBI. Having studied acting at South India Film Chambers, the late actor initially worked in the Malayalam industry on the big screen but later shifted to TV series.
His last acting credits include the 2009 films Bhagavan and Kerala Cafe.
Sreenath Was A Native Of Kuzhur: Meet His Brother Satyanath
Sreenath was born on August 26, 1956, in Kuzhur, Kerala, India. The late actor was aware of his privacy and never opened up about his family members in the media.
However, it is known that Sreenath was raised alongside his brother Satyanath, who is younger than him. It appears that Sreenath was the oldest of two children of his parents.

Sreenath Was Married Twice In His Life: Name Of His Wife?
In his personal life, Sreenath was married twice. He was first married to Shanthi Krishna, an Indian actress famous for her leading roles in Malayalam and Tamil films.
Sreenath and Shanthi married in September 1984 at Guruvayoor Temple. The former couple met through their work.
They even worked together on various projects, finally falling for each other during the shoot of Ithu Njangalude Katha, a 1982 film in which Sreenath played Raghu and Shanthi appeared as Prabha.
Sreenath and Shanthi were married for 11 years. Unfortunately, they parted ways in September 1995. Shanthi later married Sadasivan Bajore, and their marriage lasted for 18 years.
On the other hand, Sreenath married his second wife, Latha, in 1999, and they remained together until he died in 2010. After many years together, the duo even welcomed a son named Viswajith.
Sreenath Mysteriously Passed Away In 2010
The family and well-wishers of Sreenath were shattered when the news of his death was shared on April 23, 2010. The actor was found dead in mysterious circumstances in a hotel room in Kothamangalam in Kerala.
It was reported that he was discovered with his wrists slashed. Sreenath had been in Kothamangalam for the shooting of a film named Shikar. The deceased body of Sreenath was shifted to Thiruvananthapuram.
The body was then cremated at Shanthikavadam Crematorium with complete state honor. Until now, the death cause of Sreenath remains unclear, but it has been suspected that it was a murder.
Sreenath’s younger brother Satyanath talked about his brother’s death in an interview, saying that it was a murder. He even disclosed that Sreenath’s mobile phone was missing,
Satyanath said he would file a complaint with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking a reprobe to solve the mystery surrounding his brother’s passing. Until today’s day, the tragic death of Sreenath remains one of the most significant unsolved cases.
