Bigg Boss 10 contestant Swami Om was a controversial figure during his stint on the show. He was popular for his outrageous behavior and quickly became one of the most polarizing figures on the show.

Sadachari Saibaba Om Ji, popularly known as Swami Om, was a housemate on Bigg Boss 10. He quickly became famous for his notorious actions and controversial statements.

Also, Swami was feared and resented by many during his stint on the show. Furthermore, he claimed to be a spiritual person, but following his appearance on BB 10, he even threw pee on fellow contestants during a task.

Due to that, Swami was evicted from the house. Meanwhile, the political baba headlines for all the wrong reasons even after his stint with Bigg Boss ended. Sadly, he passed away in 2021 due to a panic attack.

Swami Om Family Background and Early Life – Legal Issue With Brother Pramod

Swami Om was born on December 24, 1957, to his parents in Delhi, India. His father was reportedly Vidya Chand, but his mother’s name is not accessible from media sources.

Swami kept information about his personal life and family background relatively private. Due to this lack of information, sharing details about his close ones became quite challenging.

Sources report that he had a brother named Pramod. In 2008, Pramod made headlines when his brother allegedly broke into a bicycle shop owned by Pramod.

According to reports, Swami Om, along with three men, faced accusations of forcibly breaking the shop’s lock and stealing 11 bicycles, spare parts, the sale deed of the house, and other essential documents.

Pramod’s advocate, Saroj Kumar Jha, made a statement at the time, revealing that a hospital team had been formed to investigate the matter after Swami Om raised these concerns.

Counter-Claim Of His Brother’s Allegation

In response to his brother’s claim of theft, Swami Om also made counter allegation claiming that his brother had beaten him, leading to the filing of a cross FIR. Following this, the police prepared a Medico-Legal Case (MLC) report regarding Om’s injuries.

Om claimed that he had suffered a loss of hearing and blurred vision due to the beating he allegedly received from his brother. However, upon review, the medical board found discrepancies in Swami Om’s claims.

The report noted that some of the alleged injuries were inconsistent with the time frame, casting doubt on the severity and timing of the injuries Swami Om reported.

Om had initially claimed to suffer from blurred vision, allegedly as a result of the beating he received. However, despite these complaints, Swami reportedly refused to undergo an eye check-up four times, even though he had previously stated that his vision was impaired.

Swami Om’s Journey In Bigg Boss Season 10 – Threw Pee On Fellow Contestant

Swami Om joined the hit reality television show Bigg Boss cast in season 10. He was in a whirlpool of controversies inside the house, making several exits for personal reasons and later re-entering.

Everyone on and outside the show was entirely annoyed by Swami’s behavior. During one of the tasks, he even stored his pee in a bottle and splashed it on Bani J and Rohan Mehra. Following this, the show’s makers sent him home.

Swami claimed that during his tenure, he instructed Raj Nayak to ensure Shilpa Shinde emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss 11. He alleged that host Salman wanted ‘his girlfriend Hina Khan to win’ and added that ‘Arshi Khan was also Salman’s girlfriend,’ with the superstar secretly supporting both.

When asked how Swami knew Salman was dating Hina, he claimed it was through his ‘tantra vidya. The controversial baba continued by saying that Khan’s mother, Sushila (Salma), is his informant in Salman’s house and provides him with updates on what’s happening in the actor’s life.

Furthermore, Swami also grabbed people’s attention after he referred to his fellow contestant Priyanka Jagga as his dharmaputri.

Swami Om Was Involved In Various Controversies Outside Bigg Boss

Swami Om became a hot topic on Bigg Boss and outside the show. In 2017, he faced Section 354 charges of the Indian Penal Code. 

When police officials shared the victim’s official statement with the media, it was revealed that Swami, along with his companion, had tried to sexually abuse a woman on February 7, 2017, near the Rajghat area.

The two had humiliated the woman, torn her clothes, and abused her. When she began screaming, they fled the scene, leaving her deeply traumatized. The incident sparked widespread outrage against Swami Om across the country.

Likewise, Swami also gave various interviews and debates. During a discussion on a news channel, when a co-host criticized his behavior inside the Bigg Boss house as shameful, Swami Om threw a glass of water at him. Following this, he also exchanged heatedly with the show’s female anchor.

Swami Om Passed Away In 2021: All About His Death Cause

Swami Om died on February 3, 2021, at the age of 63 years. Reportedly, the political baba had been very ill for a while. As reported, he was undergoing treatment at AIIMS. 

A few days ago, Swami suffered a paralysis attack, after which his health deteriorated drastically until he took his last breath. Reportedly, he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus earlier but had recovered from it.

His friend Mukesh Jain’s son, Arjun Jain, shared the tragic news of Om’s demise. He said, “Swami Om was sick for the last few months. Even after recovering from the coronavirus, he had a lot of trouble walking due to weakness.”

Jain continued, “After which he also had paralysis in half his body. His condition worsened 15 days ago due to paralysis. He breathed his last this morning.”

Moreover, Swami was cremated at Nigam Bodh Ghat in Delhi on February 3, 2021.
