Cameron Payne’s Girlfriend, Karina, Talked With Cops After His 2024 Arrest
Relationships are not all sunshine and rainbows- seems Cameron and Karina experienced it better.
In June 2024, Payne faced an arrest after a verbal argument with his girlfriend, Karina, at his Scottsdale home.
As reported, the NBA player called 911- the call, placed by Payne, included yelling in the background, and dispatchers struggled to reconnect after the call ended.
When officers arrived, Payne and Medrano confirmed the argument was verbal, with no physical altercation or property damage.
Medrano assured officers she felt safe and explained that Payne called to “prove a point” during their disagreement. The situation escalated when Payne repeatedly identified himself as “Terry Johnson” instead of providing his real name.
Officers insisted on verifying his identity to complete their investigation. Payne eventually admitted his real name but added confusion by claiming it was also a fake.
Following continued noncompliance, Payne was arrested and booked into the Scottsdale City Jail for false reporting and refusal to provide truthful identification. Payne was released later.

Cameron Payne was born on August 8, 1994, to supportive parents Leshawn Payne and Tony Payne Sr. in Memphis, Tennessee, U.S. Payne’s dad, Tony Sr., was a point guard in high school.
However, his 5-foot-7 height kept him from playing in college.
Tony Sr didn’t leave the field and served as an AAU coach for years. His coaching experience provided young Cameron with foundational skills and an understanding of the game from a young age.
